Taiwan Should Learn AI From Mainland, Says Opposition Leader
Taiwan's opposition leader has called for the island to learn from mainland China's use of artificial intelligence.
Kuomintang (KMT) chairwoman Cheng Li-wun made the statement during a visit to Shanghai. She toured the headquarters of Meituan, China's largest food delivery platform, on Wednesday.
The company, known internationally as Keeta, also provides grocery delivery and bike rentals. Its operations rely heavily on AI for tasks like order routing and delivery logistics.
Cheng was welcomed by Meituan's founder and CEO, Wang Xing. Her remarks highlight the KMT's ongoing engagement with mainland Chinese technology firms.
