Maui Doctor Convicted of Attack on Hiking Trail

Diseasters health
A Hawaii doctor has been convicted of attempted manslaughter for attacking his wife on a popular hiking trail. Gerhardt Konig, 47, an anesthesiologist from Maui, was found guilty by a Honolulu jury. Prosecutors said he assaulted his wife, Arielle Konig, on the trail near Honolulu. Konig claimed the act was self-defense. The jury rejected this argument after considering the evidence. Sentencing for the doctor is scheduled for a later date. The conviction carries a potential prison term.
