Iran Warns U.S.: Violate Ceasefire and Face "Regret"
Iran has publicly called on China to help guarantee any future peace deal in the region, while threatening a strong retaliation if the United States breaks its commitments.
Speaking in Beijing on Wednesday, Iranian Ambassador Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli stated Iran's hope that China, alongside Russia and the UN Security Council, would act as a security guarantor. This role would ensure the U.S. does not resume hostilities after a ceasefire.
However, the ambassador issued a direct warning to Washington. He vowed that Iran would make America "regret" any betrayal of trust, promising a forceful "fightback."
The statement highlights Iran's strategy of seeking major-power assurances for its security. It also underscores the deep mistrust that remains between Tehran and Washington, even during ceasefire negotiations.
