Shootout Erupts Outside Israeli Consulate in Istanbul
A gunman was killed in an armed clash near the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul on Tuesday, Turkish officials report.
The provincial governor stated that two other armed men and two police officers were wounded in the incident. The shootout occurred in the Beyoglu district, a central area of the city.
Authorities have not released the identities of the individuals involved or a possible motive. Security around the diplomatic mission has been increased.
An investigation into the attack is now underway.
