**Gas Over $4? Drivers Forced to Choose: Slow Down, Switch, or Stop.**
American drivers are facing a national average of over $4 per gallon for gasoline. This sharp price increase is forcing many to rethink how they use their vehicles. To save money, drivers are considering three main options. The first is simply driving less by combining trips or using public transit. For necessary trips, driving slower and avoiding rapid acceleration can improve fuel efficiency. This is because most car engines use less fuel at steady, moderate speeds. The third option is a larger change: switching to an electric vehicle (EV). EVs use electricity instead of gasoline, eliminating fuel costs but requiring access to charging. With no immediate price relief in sight, these choices are becoming urgent financial decisions for millions.
