Israeli Airstrikes Kill Five in Southern Lebanon

Israeli airstrikes hit southern Lebanon on Wednesday, killing at least five people. Several others were wounded. The strikes targeted the Tyre and Nabatieh districts. Israeli forces stated the operation was a response to recent rocket fire from Lebanese territory. Tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border have escalated since the start of the Gaza conflict. Cross-border exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah have become frequent. Local emergency services transported the wounded to nearby hospitals.
