UK Government Urged to Ban Kanye West from Festival
Pressure is growing on the UK government to stop rapper Kanye West from entering the country. This follows news that he will headline the Wireless hip-hop festival in July.
The musician, now known as Ye, has faced widespread criticism. He has made antisemitic comments and publicly praised Nazism. These actions have previously led to bans from major social media platforms.
The festival's decision to book Ye has already caused backlash. Several corporate sponsors have withdrawn their support.
A government spokesperson said it does not routinely comment on individual cases. However, UK law can deny entry to those whose presence is not "conducive to the public good."
