Trump Removes Kennedy Center Head After Artist Exodus

usa elections culture politics
President Donald Trump has replaced Ric Grenell as head of the Kennedy Center. Matt Floca, the center's own vice-president of operations, will take over. Trump announced the change on social media. He thanked Grenell for "outstanding work." Grenell, a longtime Republican foreign policy adviser, led major changes at the performing arts venue. His actions prompted many artists to leave the center. Floca was photographed in December personally overseeing the addition of Trump's name to the building's exterior. The leadership change happens as the Kennedy Center prepares to close this summer. The building will undergo a two-year renovation.
